Can AI fix a grey-sky listing photo instead of a reshoot?
Often, yes. When a shoot happens under flat grey cloud, we can relight the photo with AI so it looks like a clear day. We relight the whole scene so the light matches everywhere, and the house and land stay as they really are.
The quiet week before filled right up.
Five jobs, three days
- Tuesday: a 40 acre block at Herekino for Haze in the morning. Then 4 Sunlover Way on the Karikari Peninsula, our first job for Ray White Doubtless Bay. Shot, edited and delivered before 5pm, with the video that evening in both 1080p and 4K.
- Wednesday: Matthews Avenue in Kaitaia for Haze, then Taupata Road for Ray White Kaitaia, delivered just after 5pm.
- Thursday: 32 Dykin Road out at Kaingaroa for Haze. That long veranda looking over the farmland is on our work page.
The relight instead of the reshoot
Harbour View Road in Pukenui was shot under flat cloud a couple of weeks back. Normally that means driving back for a sunny day and hoping the weather plays along.
This time we relit it with AI. Here's the bit that matters. We relit the whole photo, sky, water, grass and house all together. If you only brighten the water, the light doesn't match and it looks fake straight away.
The house is the same house. The land is the same land. Only the light changed. The agent was really happy with how much it lifted, and nobody had to drive back up to Pukenui.
A cancellation
One job for later in the month came off the calendar when the property sold before it went to market. That's a good result for that agent, and it freed up the day.
