North Swell Media (Sean Panther trading as North Swell Media) collects and handles personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number, and whatever details you give us about your project — including a property address where the work is a real estate shoot. If you become a client we also hold billing details and the files we produce for you.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, quote and schedule work, deliver your files, invoice you, and keep the records required by Inland Revenue. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Who else sees it

We use third-party services to run the studio, and your information may pass through them: [list the ones you actually use — website host, form provider, client gallery, accounting software, email provider, Matterport]. Each holds your data under its own privacy terms.

Website analytics and cookies

[If you add Google Analytics or a Meta Pixel, say so here and say what they track. If you don't use any analytics or advertising trackers, say that instead — it is a genuine selling point and far simpler to comply with.]

Photography and people in shot

Shoots may capture images of people. Where staff, clients or members of the public are identifiable in content we produce, [describe your consent process — for example: we ask the business to obtain consent from anyone identifiable before the shoot].

Drone operation and privacy

Aerial work is flown under Civil Aviation rules. We take reasonable steps to avoid capturing neighbouring properties or identifiable people beyond the property being photographed, and we will not supply footage that does.

How long we keep things

Enquiries that don't become jobs are deleted after [12] months. Client records and delivered files are kept for [7] years to meet tax record requirements, and archived project files for [X] years.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email sean@northswell.co.nz and we'll respond within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act requires. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
