What a "clean master" is, and seven edits in one go
A clean master is the finished listing video with no logos, captions, end card or overlays on it. Agencies with their own media team ask for it so they can add their own branding without covering yours.
Quieter on the shooting side early on, then a big Friday.
The clean master
Arizto's media team asked for a version of the Stratford Drive video with nothing on it. No logos, no end card, no overlays. Their team puts their own branding on everything that goes out, so they need the video bare.
Fair enough too. If we put our end card on and they put theirs on, you get two end cards and a messy finish. So now we keep a clean export of every listing video ready to go. It costs nothing to make while the edit is open and it saves a round trip later.
The same agency also asked us to cut one shot where a neighbour's house and water tank were in frame. We took it out completely. The vendor's property is what's for sale, nobody else's.
Seven edits, one pass
The Bush Point Road video from last week came back from the agent with a list of seven changes:
- trim the first 8 seconds
- open on the boundary shot
- cut a few darker and cluttered shots, plus a spa shot and a double up
- bring the length down to about a minute or a minute and a half
- swap in the agency's own end text
We did the lot in one go and sent it back. A list like that is the easiest kind of feedback to get, because you know exactly what done looks like.
Matariki Friday
Friday was three jobs. 7 Whitney Lane on the Karikari Peninsula ran in the afternoon, with Te Moho Road in Taipa squeezed into a gap. Whitney Lane is one of the ones on our work page, and it's still one of my favourite decks to shoot.
Quick answers
Can I get my listing video without any branding on it?
Yes. We can send a clean master with no logos, captions or end card, alongside the branded version. Just tell us when you book, or ask after and we'll export it.
How many changes can an agent ask for on a listing video?
As many as it takes to get it right. This week an agent sent seven changes in one message and we turned them all around in one pass.
