How many videos can you get out of one shoot day?
A lot more than people think. One good interview day gave Arcline Architecture twelve short cuts to choose from. The trick is a full transcript, so you can find every strong line and build a short video around each one.
No new shoots on the calendar this week. Plenty went out the door though.
Arcline: twelve cuts from one day
We sat down with Arcline Architecture on Tuesday afternoon. I'd been through the footage from an interview day back in May and written up twelve short cut ideas, each one built on a line from the transcript. The client said the words, so it sounds like them. We just found the best bits and put pictures to them.
They went away with a script document, rough cuts for all twelve, and a guide for collecting leads on Meta. They picked their favourites and those became the cut list for the next few months.
If you've already paid for a big shoot, it's worth asking what else is sitting in the footage. Usually there's a lot.
Four reels in a day
We'd filmed behind the scenes at a Sturmfel Road shoot in Kaitaia, so on Wednesday it became a four part series. Four reels cut, covers made, captions written, posts scheduled, and the folder with the agent by 2pm.
Inland Road, Karikari
Haze Exclusive. Shot, photos edited, video licensed and up on YouTube in two days. The agent sent two small edit requests the next morning. One clutter tidy-up and one photo that was too big. Both were back in under half an hour.
Kai Ora on brand
We rebuilt the Kai Ora Honey title cards using their real brand kit. Proper fonts, their own kōwhaiwhai pattern and colours. When they asked for "more black" we went to a true black on screen, because the kit's charcoal looks a bit green on a phone.
